500MHz–8GHz Ultra-Wideband Analog Video Receiver

The Vcan2165 is a wideband analog video receiver designed to receive analog video signals across a very wide frequency range from 500MHz to 8GHz.

Instead of using separate receivers for different frequency bands, this receiver provides a flexible platform for multi-band analog video reception. It supports NTSC and PAL video, automatic channel scanning, manual frequency locking, and RCA composite video output.

The receiver is suitable for FPV video systems, wireless video monitoring, RF testing, research and development, and other applications requiring wide-frequency analog video reception.

Wide Frequency Coverage

The Vcan2165 covers a very wide tuning range, making it useful for projects where the operating frequency may vary between different transmitters.

Preset frequency groups are available for commonly used bands, including:

  • 1.2GHz

  • 1.5GHz

  • 1.8GHz

  • 2.8GHz

  • 3.3GHz

  • 3.7GHz

  • 4.2GHz

  • 3–4GHz

  • 6–7GHz

For frequencies outside the preset channel lists, the automatic scanning function can be used to search within the supported frequency range.

Automatic Channel Scanning

The receiver can automatically scan the available frequency range to locate active analog video signals.

When a video signal is detected, the operator can lock the current frequency using the control buttons. If the signal is not locked, the receiver continues scanning.

This makes the receiver particularly useful when the transmitter frequency is unknown or when working with multiple frequency configurations.

Video Output

The receiver provides RCA composite video output and supports:

  • NTSC

  • PAL

  • Automatic video format detection

The RCA output can be connected directly to a compatible monitor, video recorder, DVR or other analog video processing equipment.

Antenna

The receiver uses an SMA antenna connector.

Because the receiver covers a very wide frequency range, antenna selection should be matched to the target operating frequency. For best reception performance, a frequency-specific antenna is generally recommended instead of attempting to cover the entire 500MHz–8GHz range with a single antenna.

The default configuration can be supplied with a directional antenna, depending on the selected frequency range.

Important Frequency Note

Although the receiver has a tuning range of 500MHz–8GHz, it does not receive multiple frequency bands simultaneously.

For example, if one transmitter operates at 1.2GHz and another operates at 3.3GHz, the receiver must be tuned or scanned to the required frequency band. It cannot simultaneously display both video signals.
