COFDM DVB-T SDI Wireless Video Transmitter TX Module

Overview

The COFDM DVB-T SDI Wireless Video Transmitter TX Module is a professional wireless video transmission solution designed for broadcast production, mobile video systems, and OEM integration. Featuring H.264 video encoding, support for 1080i50 HD video, and SDI input, it delivers reliable wireless video transmission for professional applications.

This compact board-level transmitter is ideal for system integrators and equipment manufacturers who need a flexible TX module for custom wireless camera systems. It supports 2.2GHz operation and can be paired with an external RF power amplifier for different output power requirements.

Key Features

• COFDM / DVB-T wireless transmission technology
• H.264 HD video encoding
• Supports 1080i50 video format
• Professional SDI video input
• 2.2GHz operating frequency configuration
• Optional external RF power amplifiers from 1W to 20W
• RS232 data transmission for control signals and telemetry
• Adjustable transmission parameters using an optional configuration panel
• Modular PCB design for OEM integration
• Compatible with suitable Vislink and Domo receiver systems, subject to frequency and configuration compatibility
• Optional bidirectional system available upon request

Video and Encoding Performance

The transmitter uses H.264 compression to provide efficient HD video encoding. Its SDI input makes it suitable for professional cameras, camera control units, video switchers, and other SDI-output equipment.

COFDM modulation helps maintain robust transmission in environments affected by multipath propagation, including urban locations, sports venues, and mobile production setups.

Frequency and Receiver Compatibility

• Transmitter operating frequency: 2.2GHz configuration
• Typical receiver frequency range: 170–860MHz
• Optional frequency down-converter: Converts the transmitter signal to a receiver-compatible frequency, such as approximately 600MHz, when supported by the system

Please confirm the transmitter frequency, receiver tuning range, bandwidth, and configuration before ordering. A frequency converter may be required when the receiver cannot directly receive the transmitter's operating frequency.

RF Output Power Options

The transmitter module is designed to work with an external RF power amplifier. Available options include 1W, 2.5W, 5W, 10W, and 20W.

The 10W and 20W amplifier versions can be adjusted down to 5W. The 1W and 2.5W versions cannot be increased to 5W using their standard power settings.

The RF power amplifier is an optional component and is not built into the basic transmitter board. Actual output power depends on the selected configuration.

Video and Data Transmission

In addition to video transmission, the module supports RS232 data transmission for applications such as tally signals, basic telemetry, and camera-related control signals.

The standard version supports one-way transmission from the transmitter to the receiver. Return data transmission is not supported in the standard configuration. An optional bidirectional version is available for applications requiring return-channel communication.

Modular Design for OEM Integration

Supplied as a board-level module, this transmitter is suitable for integration into custom enclosures and professional wireless video systems. Its modular design supports OEM manufacturers, system integrators, and developers of portable or vehicle-mounted video equipment.

Typical Applications

• Professional wireless camera systems
• Electronic News Gathering (ENG) and Electronic Field Production (EFP)
• Outside broadcast (OB) vans
• Sports broadcasting and live event production
• Mobile video transmission systems
• UAV and other mobile platforms, where the RF configuration is suitable
• OEM wireless video equipment
• Custom COFDM video transmission links

FAQ

Q1: Does this module support SDI video input?
Yes. It supports SDI input and H.264 encoding for wireless transmission of 1080i50 HD video.

Q2: Is the RF power amplifier included?
No. The basic module does not include a built-in RF power amplifier. External PA options are available separately.

Q3: Can I use this transmitter with a Vislink or Domo receiver?
It may be compatible when the frequency, bandwidth, modulation parameters, and receiver configuration match. A frequency down-converter may be needed for receivers that cannot directly receive the transmitter's operating frequency.

Q4: Does the standard version support two-way communication?
No. The standard version supports one-way video and data transmission. A bidirectional version is available upon request.

Q5: Can the transmission frequency be customized?
Frequency and system parameters may be configurable depending on the selected version. Confirm the required frequency band and configuration before ordering.

Q6: Is the configuration panel included?
The parameter configuration panel is an optional accessory unless specifically included in the selected package.

Q7: Is this a complete transmitter with an enclosure?
No. The standard product is a board-level module without a metal enclosure. Additional RF amplification and custom housing may be required for your application.
